Responsibilities

Berry Global – Mankato, MN plant is searching for an overnight Quality Assurance Tech.  This position performs finished product and in-process testing procedures.  Addresses quality issues and concerns, in addition to entering data, keeping accurate records and being the liaison between the production and the quality department.  Past experience in plastic manufacturing is desirable. 

 

Check and record all film specs making sure that all film is within customer requirementsSave and mark samples and retains from every customer order.Able to balance multiple tasksProvide production support when needed. Ability to interact with production personnelAssist production by checking start up samplesAble to Quad charts and special instructions needed by customersProvide consistency in film qualityHighly self-motivated, dependable, and must have a good attendance record Ability to make good judgement calls in terms of quality of film.Able to work under minimal supervisionNeeds to be safety conscience, abide by all safety rules and proceduresLot Certifications (requires Visual Basic skills in MS Excel)Troubleshoot Lab testing equipmentUpdate and maintain the Standard operation conditions data base

 

 

Computer skills to include Access, Visual Basic, Word & Excel and interpersonal skills a must.  Ability to interact with production personnel.  Attention for detail and have analytical skills.  Able to balance multiple tasks.  Requires strong work ethics, self-motivation, dependability and ability to work under minimal supervision.  Needs to be safety conscience.  Past experience in production plant.  Knowledge of statistics, ISO, and plastic film desirable.

 

High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of three years related extrusion experience or training.      

 

Hours are 10 hour overnight, rotating shift, 8 pm to 6 am.

 

Starting wage $21.67, plus $1.75 differential for hours worked between 5 pm and 5 am.
