How you will make history here…

The Quality Lab Technician performs quality control testing of ingredients, in-process product, and finished product.

Notify QA of any analysis that is out of specification.  Responsible to complete follow up testing on product out of specification. Responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and basic trouble shooting of lab equipment. Enter testing results into current data entry program.  Provide support to operations from a laboratory standpoint when requested (testing preblends/kettles, solids, etc.)Perform microbiological analysis on ingredients, in process and post process product as required. Collect sanitation samples, WHQ nutritional program samples, and microbiological swabs as requested.  Participate in WHQ check sample program.  Follow documented testing procedures.   Perform general laboratory cleaning procedures (clean glassware, equipment, and counters etc.)Perform other duties that may be assigned.  

What you bring to the table…

Minimum Education Required: High school degree with 2 years plant and/or lab experience.Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or Food Technology, or other science related area of study

It would be great if you had…

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:Experience with microbiological testing or related job experience.  Must be able to work independently.Familiarity with laboratory procedures.Computer literacy for Operations and Office systems.Good written and verbal communications skills.Good mathematical skills.Ability to follow detailed instructions.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are typical of a laboratory (handle chemicals, glassware, hot items) and that of a food processing facility (loud, noisy environment, hot temperatures, lifting/carry items up to 50 pounds).Position is fast paced and requires a significant amount of walking.Shift work and weekend work required. 

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between 

$50,100-$72,000

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
