Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Analyst I to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and testing samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures. Your duties will include conducting a variety of tests and quality checks, monitoring processes, documenting results, and maintaining lab equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Responsibilities
Collect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.Conduct tests including pH, viscosity, titrations, product color via colorimeter, density, acid, salt, and sensory evaluations (taste, aroma, and appearance) versus control samples.Perform quality checks on the production floor, including verifying the accuracy of unit codes (bottle codes) and case codes, and the proper application of unit and case labels.Weigh samples, conduct metal detector checks, and perform periodic inspections to ensure sanitary conditions throughout the manufacturing process.Monitor processes to ensure they are operating correctly and consistently.Document all results neatly and precisely.Label and maintain product retention samples to monitor product throughout the established shelf life.Organize collected data for management review.Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.Monitor plant for compliance with GMPs.Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development.Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.Essential Skills
Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques.Experience working in a laboratory setting.Knowledge of food science principles.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the food industry is preferred.Comfortable working in both a manufacturing and lab environment.Work Environment
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with strong food smells present throughout the day. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes steel-toed shoes, a lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses. The dress code is casual, with jeans and clothes that can get a little dirty.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
