Job Description
Position Purpose
Responsible for all safety, environmental and quality initiatives of the plant, performs quality audits, implements GAP safety and environmental SOP’s to comply with all corporate policies, goals and objectives.
Major/Key Accountabilities:
Ensure plant and plant personnel operate within CHEP safety guidelines.Ensure plant is in compliance with local, State and Federal environmental regulations.Manage and execute all GAP (CHEP safety program) strategies and program initiatives.Track performance on quality, safety and report to supervisors and management.Train and develop team members to meet corporate safety, environmental and quality guidelines.Maintain all safety documents for all plant personnel.Perform safety, quality, and sanitation audits and report results.Lead safety committee and review all pending safety or environmental concerns, risks and develop mitigation plans accordingly.Develop and lead group projects targeting safety systems and manufacturing improvements.Work with Regional HSE Manager and US HSE Compliance Manager to address plant risks.Coordinate with team leads and hiring agencies to fill open positions and pre-screen candidates. Perform orientation training and walkthroughs for all new hires.Be the key person to drive continuous improvement at the plant and strengthen internal policies, procedures and safety systems.Measure:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.Four-year college degree or 3-5 years relevant experience preferred.2-5 years of experience in Production/Manufacturing/Shipping or Logistics. Lean Manufacturing desired.Skill/Knowledge:
Knowledge of manufacturing operations, training production employees.Computer skills are also mandatory for Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.Basic Knowledge of quality control program implementation.Basic knowledge of OSHA standards.Basic knowledge of environmental regulations; knowledge of local air and storm water regulations is preferred as well as managing hazardous and regulated wastes.Languages:
