Job Description

The job description for the Quality Management (QM) Task Force Coordinator at Alor Setar Tires Malaysia outlines several key responsibilities and requirements. Responsibilities include:

Ensuring quality standards and procedures are followed to produce high-quality products.Achieving scrap and rework targets and taking corrective actions when targets are not met.Managing and supporting scrap reduction efforts and reducing customer complaints.Leading structured problem-solving activities and reviewing the effectiveness of actions taken.Preparing and reviewing quality records and performance evaluations.Managing overtime during shifts and ensuring accurate timekeeping.

Key tasks involve:

Leading scrap reduction projects and ensuring timely execution and reporting.Gathering and analyzing data on scrap and rework rates to identify root causes.Collaborating with business teams to develop and implement strategies for scrap and rework reduction.Educating employees on best practices to prevent scrap and reduce waste.Tracking and reporting scrap reduction metrics to monitor progress and set improvement activities.

Quality Management System (QMS) responsibilities:

Ensuring plant implementation and compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.Monitoring local QMS documentation to ensure relevance and alignment with central QM and customer requirements.Supervising quality control activities related to incoming materials, in-process materials, and waste management.

Safety and Environment:

Adhering to environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures.Ensuring all management systems conform to internal standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001).

Problem Solving:

Utilizing structured problem-solving approaches such as SPS, A3, Pareto, SPC, 8D Report, SCRAR, 5 Why, DMAIC, and PDCA.Addressing and solving immediate scrap-related issues on the production floor.

Competencies required:

Technical knowledge in tire manufacturing, quality systems, and problem-solving tools.Proficiency in data analysis, manufacturing management systems, and quality audits.Strong communication skills in English and the local language.Experience in project leadership and intercultural teamwork.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Chemical, or Polymer disciplines.Minimum 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, with fresh graduates encouraged to apply.Experience in tire production/process improvement and structured problem-solving techniques.
