Quality Manager, Oil Refinery

From promoting growth and development to prioritizing work-life balance, we’re committed to helping our team members thrive. **That's Perdue.** **Summary** The Quality Manager will implement food safety management systems and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements at the Oil Refinery facility. This role will support the leadership team with a thorough understanding of quality assurance, safety technology, testing and auditing documentation, data collection and analysis, and knowledge transfer. Additionally, it will provide team leadership to find solutions for food safety and quality concerns. The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $126,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, with an annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off. **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Maintain audit-ready status for 3rd parties and customer audits, along with being the lead role. Create and implement internal monitoring and coordinate with leadership and team on non-conformances, and assist in implementing corrective actions + Manage the quality of raw ingredients, processing aids, and finished products. Calibration of critical equipment. Assurance of adequacy and proper functioning of product protection devices (filters, magnets, etc.) Compose SDS documents for refinery products. Maintain and update product specifications and formulations + Communicate with customers and complete documents concerning quality and regulatory issues. Ensure products meet established customer quality and service requirements and specifications. Act as an intermediary between our customers and the facility to review product performance, conduct quality safety audits, review third-party certifications, and respond to customer questions and complaints. Lead in determining root cause and corrective actions for incidents + Lead the lab team, along with personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team + Coordinate with sales and production regarding quality issues and determine quality risk and final disposition of non-conforming products + Perform all work within the safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies. Development and implementation of training programs to instruct employees to monitor and document HACCP, SOP, & other required food safety and defense functions. Assist in writing policies, standards, processes, and procedures to assure refinery compliance with regulations and that all are in place and carried out, and recommend and implement improvements to the same. + Maintain all Analytical Instruments – Gas Chromatography, HPLC Chromatography, ICP Element Analysis, MRI Solid Fat Index, Karl Fischer Titrators, Chlorophyll Spectrophotometer, Refractive Index, Melting Point, and Wet Chemistry, etc **Minimum Education** + Bachelor Degree (Chemistry or Biology) **Experience Requirements** + Understanding of manufacturing technologies + Understanding of quality control processes + Understanding of safety and environmental programs and requirements + Understanding of state and federal regulations for food safety + Strong communication, math, analytical, and interpersonal skills **Experience Preferred** + 5 - 7 years of previous food safety and quality management in an food manufacturing or similar industry **Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements** Normal climate-controlled environment with primarily sedentary work.
