Quality Manager

We are seeking a Quality Manager in our Budd Lake, NJ facility where we develop and produce custom high-precision nonlinear crystal optics and opto-mechanical assemblies, primarily for the laser market. This role will manage all aspects of quality for this location, including interaction with customers and suppliers on quality issues, participation in NPI review and collaboration with production managers and process owners to implement improvements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Directs the Budd Lake Quality System process Tactical oversight is provided to the Budd Lake Facility and support to any other sites that encompass Crystal Materials Division Develops and maintains a culture of quality and improvement and Quality operations meet corporate and company goals Cost of Quality targets are defined and met and Cost of Quality results are analyzed monthly for further cost reduction opportunities and waste elimination Ensures quality KPI objectives are developed, aligned to corporate and company goals, and achieved Comprehend technical concepts and present at a high level with Senior Managers, customers, distributors, and principals at different purchasing and engineering levels Works with production and engineering employees to obtain initiatives and properly vet them Directs Quality support groups such as operations, engineering, sales and NPI with gathering and analyzing data  Directs and assures the effectiveness of internal and external auditing processes Communicates with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues, including quality audits, and warranty returns to assure highest levels of customer satisfaction Takes lead role in managing complaint process and complex quality issues experienced by customers Manage and drive corrective actions through the process owners. Oversee and drive work instructions documentation. Oversee the site calibration and maintain compliance to the QMS manual.  Be the POC for and lead the failure analysis effort of customer returns Be a change agent for continuous improvement and lean opportunities.  Quarterly quality reporting at corporate QQBRs. Quality lead for NPI phase gate reviews..

Education & Experience

B.S. in technical field, preferably Statistics, Optics, or Quality Engineering 8+ years of experience with Quality Engineering or Quality Management Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Email, statistical Analysis tools Able to balance financial and quality objectives using statistical and audit expertise.   Able to solve complex problems using intuition, induction, deduction, analysis of data, and complex quality tools.  Experience with Advanced Quality Management and knowledge of various quality systems, such as ISO 9001.  Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
