GENERAL PURPOSE
Lead and supervise a cross-functional team in implementing a quality program within a complex manufacturing facility. Ensure the achievement of the site's quality objectives, holding the operation accountable for meeting customer requirements and product specifications. Manage multiple projects and programs, including headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs, to ensure resources are effectively allocated. Drive the successful completion of goals, timelines, and budgets in alignment with organizational roadmaps, while ensuring products are delivered at the highest level of quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Achieve and maintain exceptional levels of customer quality and service.
Apply advanced problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and implement effective solutions.
Build and nurture a strong team, ensuring equitable workload distribution and fostering professional growth.
Lead the conceptualization and execution of solutions to the most intricate issues.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with Operations support staff, plant resources, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Identify and implement procedural improvements to optimize quality and operational efficiency.
Address team members' career development needs, providing resources and opportunities for growth.
Improve customer response and product issue resolution processes.
Make timely decisions, even with incomplete information, while managing high-pressure deadlines.
Present project results and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
Set and uphold engineering quality standards.
Manage the implementation and performance of the site's quality program, ensuring product quality goals are met and exceeded.
Perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business/Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
8-10 years of relevant experience, with a focus on operations and quality manufacturing processes.
Strong knowledge of quality systems (e.g., APQP, PPAP, ISO 9000).
Previous management experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Proven leadership ability in line with MillerKnoll's Leadership Skills and Behavior Model.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills.
Solid business acumen, including knowledge of accounting, finance, quality, marketing, and operations.
Understanding of engineering and quality tools (e.g., ProEngineer, PDM, ERP, GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, Statistical Process Control) and how to apply them to improve business outcomes.
Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (HMPS).
Proficient in office automation and communication tools used within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change initiatives in a manufacturing environment using lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
