Quality Manager

DS Smith has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Manager in our Cambridge, MD facility.
Position Summary: The QA Manager will manage the day to day running of the Quality team, work proactively with the Production, Design and Sales teams, and continuously improve and protect the DS Smith brand and improve performance specific to Quality.

Job Duties:

Promotes a company-wide positive attitude towards Quality, Product Safety and Hygiene, while satisfying the requirements of current legislation, and eventual certification of the site (ISO 9001, BRC/IoP) and Customer Codes of Practice where applicable Owns the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring that all relative sections are accurate, up to date and adhered to, supported by the Technical Support/Compliance Controller Maintains cross-functional collaboration with departments to resolve Customer complaints and internal defects Identifies root cause of problems and implements required improvements Owns site PACE program, Testing Requirements, and governance of Performance Testing compliance (TST, BCT, FIT, Paper sampling, etc.)

Key Accountabilities:

Liaise with other departments to understand complaint trends and issues Promotes improvements in achieving targets, e.g. reduce complaints and errors in terms of DPPM score, maintains hygiene issues at a minimum Compiles, analyzes and reports on KPIs in a format which is clear and unambiguous. Utilizes data to realize and drive change and is proactive in delivering improvement and change Manages authorization on defect assessment (internal or external sorted/assessed product) assignment to stock or scrap Develops and delivers all aspects of the Quality System to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies Ensures site QMS adheres to all Customer and accreditation requirements Ensures HACCPs are reviewed and updated with respect to associated risks Manages Company compliance to the standard with regards to processes, procedures and products ensuring our products and services are fit for the Customer, brand safety, legality, and factory suitability. Ensures requirements are understood by all relevant functions with Quality and Hygiene Trains and develops Quality Team Conducts internal compliance audits to ensure company adherence Serves as site contact for all accreditation bodies and customers; follows up on corrective non-conformances and preventative actions Maintains internal responsibility for workload and priorities of contract cleaners Ensures compliance of GMP and Hygiene standards
