Position: Quality Manager

Location: Transitions Optical (Thailand) Limited - TOTL, Amata, Chonburi

Reporting Manager:  Plant Director

 

JOB FUNCTION:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the minimum required quality in every aspect of operations: raw materials, products in-process, TOTL internal processes and finished products is achieved.  The incumbent is to analyze quality related issues within and outside the company affecting the overall operations of TOTL and continuously improve its quality systems.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Calibration and Laboratory of TOTL.

Manage the expenses of Quality and Laboratory.

Prepare, implement and monitor both short-term and long-term Quality Strategic Plans.

Establish departmental Balanced Scorecard and develop initiatives to attain the targets set.

Coordinate with customers all action plans to resolve issues they raised.  Act as a technical support to customers as well.

Oversee interactions with suppliers on issues requiring action plans to minimize effect on product yield.

Establish a mutually beneficial relationship with customers and suppliers.

Identify, manage and control documents that are included and related to the different regulatory bodies.

Ensure continuous maintenance, translation and updating of the Quality Standards.

Ensure TOTL’s compliance to Global Quality and Laboratory Procedures. Coordinate with Engineering TOTL’s conformance to Global Process and Product Specifications.

Oversee Continuous Improvement Team, Calibration, and Validation Systems.

Attend the Global Quality meetings via conference calls and face to face meetings.

Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.

Report to management team about the performance of TOTL’s QMS and any need for improvement.

Liaise with external parties on matters relating to the quality management system.

Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout TOTL.

Act as TOTL’s Quality Management Representative (QMR).

Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Support R&D and GLI validations (e.g. Lab test, Lens inspection)

Perform other duties as requested.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree qualifications in Science/Engineering.

At least 8 years' experience in a manufacturing industry as a Quality Manager. He/she should have QMR experience for at least 3 years.

With a depth knowledge in Quality Cost Concepts and techniques.

Working knowledge on ISO9001, ISO13485, 14001 standards

Fluent English is a must.

Knowledge in ISO17025, CE Mark, and FDA would be an advantage.

With leadership skills and understanding of human factors and motivation

Qualifications in:

Total Quality Management

Problem solving techniques

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Quality Circle

Quality tools

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
