Job Description

 

We're Hiring! Grace is seeking a Quality Manager (QM) to join our ART-Quality team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager at our Chicago, 4099 W. 71st St. site. This is a full-time position with a M-F day schedule and potential on-call with 24/7 plant operations.

 

The Quality Manager will oversee daily quality activities at the 71st plant and ART’s tolling network. This role includes ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS), handling Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and audits. The QM ensures all quality activities, including specifications, changes, COA databases, and customer complaints, are managed effectively.

 

At our Chicago 71st Street site, we produce inorganic chemical catalysts used in petroleum refining and specialty petrochemical industries. Our products play a crucial role in removing sulfur, nitrogen, and other impurities from crude oil, helping to reduce atmospheric pollutants. Responsibilities

 

Oversee quality program activities at Chicago 71st and ART’s Tolling Network. Manage the Process Control Laboratory, including supervision, scheduling, training, and development. Handle customer complaint systems at Chicago 71st and ART’s Tolling Network. Coordinate and lead customer audits at Chicago 71st. Manage the release process for all finished products at Chicago 71st and ART’s Tolling Network. Maintain Site Quality Management Systems and serve as ISO 9001-2015 Management Representative. Ensure quality system and laboratory activities align with customer and business goals. Keep laboratories current with technological advances. Ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and certification standards. Ensure analytical data and services meet internal and external customer needs. Maintain product and customer specifications within LIMS, Dataparc, and Amalgam. Evaluate supplier quality systems and performance. Coordinate internal quality audit programs. Implement Corrective and Preventive Action Systems. Maintain the quality and integrity of laboratory data. Ensure analytical instruments are calibrated and maintained. Conduct Measurement Systems Analyses, including gauge R&R studies. Maintain and advance the Laboratory Information Management System. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality management or laboratory management, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Results-oriented with a proactive approach to work. Ability to solve problems using fact-based approaches. Experience in facilitating work processes. Strong critical thinking and project leadership skills. Knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC/SQC, and cGMP. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access). Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
