Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join the Legrand DPC Team in Reno, NV. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the Quality Management Program at the Reno site to ensure world-class quality results. They will plan and direct activities associated with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for production processes, materials, products, and external suppliers within a global, ISO 9001 integrated Quality Management System. Legrand DPC (Server Technology Brand)

 

What Will You Do?

 

• Manage quality assurance team onsite and remote personnel
• Develop and manage quality assurance systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiencies
• Create quality policies and procedures that ensure outcomes within the defined standards
• Ensure that product testing activities provide effective verification of product attributes
• Analyze quality data and provide feedback and interpretation to Executive team
• Perform root-cause analysis on all defects ensuring that corrective actions are immediately implemented to avoid repeat quality issues
• Support continuous improvement activities that enhance internal quality systems and processes
• Implement quality policies and systems that promote the improvement of procured products and services.
• Verify that raw materials, purchased parts or components, in-process samples, and finished products meet established testing and inspection standards
• Monitor development of new products to help identify possible problems for mass production
• Develop training modules to build quality awareness throughout the organization
• Oversee the organization’s internal audit program, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
• Review and update quality assurance manuals.
• Assist operations in identifying critical points in the manufacturing process and the sampling procedures to be used at these points.
• Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions
• Liaise between DPC and Customers in the event of unsatisfactory quality
• Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends; deliver to Executive Team on regularly scheduled intervals
• Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality assurance

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

 

•Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience, preferably in a related quality or technical field

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


• Five plus years of prior quality assurance experience with proven implementation of quality systems and tools
• Prior experience working in an electronics manufacturing and/or distribution operation required
• Strong computer skills including experience using database and spreadsheet programs
• Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program, such as SAP
• Prior experience in an ISO 9001 company, preferably prior responsibility for maintaining ISO certifications
• Knowledge of other ISO Management Systems preferred (ISO 14001 & 45001)
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
• Knowledge of APQP and its associated tool set

• Detailed knowledge of ISO9001: 2015
• Experience in the application of quality tools including 5S, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing Methods
• Knowledge of Six Sigma principles and applications
• Expert practitioner of root cause analysis techniques e.g. 8D, 5 Why & Ishikawa
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Complex Problem-Solving skills – identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate option and implement solutions
• Judgment and Decision-Making skills – considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Critical Thinking skills – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills – ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand
• Able to manage multiple projects
• Able to meet agreed upon completion dates
• Able to motivate team members within a cross functional team

 

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements


• The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory footwear (safety shoes) are required.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
• Up to 20% international travel may be required
