JOB PURPOSE:

The position will have the primary purpose to lead a team that supports quality planning across product development, process development, and supplier quality to manufacture quality parts on time by detecting potential risks in the early stage in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning.

JOB DUTIES:

Oversees the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems.Supporting development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products. Leading supplier quality initiatives through $ opportunities.Investigating and addressing trends with internal and external non-conformance.Leading, managing and developing multiple teams, team leaders, and quality analysts to assure that quality standards are met.Leading and Supporting category teams for supplier evaluation and audits.Project Integration of different Quality Planning projects within the team.Contribute to project plan development and effort estimation in support to team supervisorOrganize the project flow within the team and suppliers as per FTR. Put ideas into plans and actions.Execute the Complex projects and ensure the project deliverables as outlined in project plan.Evaluate, define, methodology for creating Quality documents for different commoditiesParticipate and Evaluate Quality Documents during reviews.Assess and confirm the customer needs in Service Design and Deployment in support to team supervisorCoach team members for Complex manufacturing process in creating Quality documentsProvide specialized skills. Expertise in the Quality domain.Uses Quality expertise and product knowledge to play the leadership role in the Quality Management SystemFacilitate team meetings and discussionsDelegate portions of the project to other engineers and leads and coordinates the Quality Planning work. Prepares development plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.Provides guidance and coaching the team engineers.

Deep expertise in all the phases of the APQP methodology and their inputs and deliverablesPrint Reading – Expert in reading and understanding the information shown on Engineering DrawingsEstablishment of critical check points at Quality gates and In Process Validation (IPV)Understand CPI (continuous Product Improvement) process, the key phases / functions and the objective of it.Understand what CPPD (continuous Product and Process Development) means, workflow and phases of developmentUnderstand the scope of CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System), including quality policies, the inputs, processes & outputs required for quality compliance. Understand the 9 clauses of CQMS and understand the key CQMS MetricsUnderstand the high level FMEA process and the ability to deploy a product / process FMEA & Control PlanComplete knowledge on SFMEA creation and risk mitigationKnowledge of the key points associated with the NPI deliverable /Sub process /ActivityUnderstand Plan -Do -Check -Act methodology, Prevent, Control & Correct cycle, and how these are applied within the CQMS and APQP.Understands the alignment between the APQP and PPAP processes. Be able to recognize the elements of PPAP as well as notification and level requirements and PPAP dispositions.Understand the process behind and application of SPC (Statistical Process Control). Ability to understand & apply basic statistics, Advanced Control Charts and Advanced Process Capability.Basics in quality systems and the assurance approach to quality. Particularly deals with ISO9001 and internal quality audit process.Abel to identify the elements of Value Stream Mapping (VSM), including material and information flows, mapping icons and calculations and VSM representatives’ data.

• Documents the key steps of a unit-specific risk management process and associated procedures.
• Explains and analyzes quality indicators and metrics relevant to own unit or function.
• Highlights Quality Risk Management issues throughout the product life cycle.
• Participates in a crisis management team to address quality issues.
• Understands overall business objectives to effectively mitigate risks associated with quality.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
• Utilizes RCA techniques, such as Flowchart, Fish-bone Diagram, etc., to investigate basic problems, determine the causes, and find resolutions.
• Locates factors that resulted in harmful outcomes of one or more past events.
• Pinpoints behaviors, actions, inaction, or conditions that need to be changed.
• Extrapolates lessons to be learned to promote the achievement of better consequences.
• Practices RCA as an iterative process
