Position Summary: In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Food Safety and Quality systems for our Darlington Distribution Centre (DC), ensuring that the DC receives the necessary support to maintain Food Safety and Quality requirements within the DC. You will also be responsible for driving a positive Food Safety and Quality culture within the DC. As part of this role, you will support Martin Brower Business Strategy and its implementation from a Food Safety and Quality perspective. Responsibilities: To liaise with the Quality Management Team and Suppliers, on food quality/safety and packaging issues. Assist the DC with the management of product recalls in accordance with McDonald’s Quality Assurance and Martin Brower logistics processes and procedures. Ensure that all product specifications are adhered to on intake, despatch and delivery. Ensure that Quality Management training is carried out within all departments at the DC, with direct involvement to drive the relevant level of employee engagement. Effectively communicate the Food Safety and Quality performance within the DC. Ensure all Quality database information is accurate and up to date. Ensure Quality Management System Audits are performed to agreed schedule. Maintain and develop the DC Quality Management System to fully integrate all relevant internal, external and customer requirements Complete regular Food Safety and Quality reviews with the DC management team to ensure compliance to Legal, & Customer requirements. Effective management of Corrective actions with the DC management team to drive continuous improvement. Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships within Martin Brower, including central departments, to help ensure the role of the Quality Team as a support function within the business. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation. Process restaurant product complaints within specified time frames and to facilitate a corrective action process to reduce overall restaurant product complaints within the DC. Ensure daily product checks are completed and reported weekly, as required by McDonald’s. Management of the site HACCP plan as HACCP team leader for the DC. Qualifications Technical competencies Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate. At least HACCP level 3 certification. Experience with FSSC 22000 or equivalent GFSI standard. Experience completing internal audits and managing a site audit schedule, ideally you will have a lead auditor Qualification. Root Cause analysis. Knowledge of Food Safety Legislation Food process knowledge would be an advantage. Knowledge and experience of Food Safety and Quality management systems. Knowledge and experience of Pest Control Management systems.
