About the role
The Plant Quality Manager will lead lab management and product quality efforts, ensuring alignment with Kerry Corporate Policies and customer requirements. This role reports to the Head of Quality and oversees plant quality supervisors. The position requires onsite work.
Key responsibilities
+ Food Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety standards and collaborate with the plant food safety management team to implement risk mitigation programs. Oversee the implementation and adherence to the positive release procedure.
+ Quality Systems: Develop, review, and align procedures with corporate policies using Intelex (document control system) to drive best practices. Conduct internal audits to improve practices and prevent non-conformances. The quality system includes food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in SAP, material control, pre-operations checks, and CCP/PC.
+ Compliance: Enforce Kerry standards for ingredient and product quality, process specifications, formula compliance, and regulatory adherence. Ensure that released products are compliant and safe.
+ Quality Improvement: Track, report, and review agreed-upon KPIs. Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Plan, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance quality and processes.
+ Customer Satisfaction: Address customer complaints proactively and responsively, communicate effectively on technical issues, and lead root cause analysis. Develop and verify corrective actions.
+ Managerial Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a qualified team within the plant Quality department through training, communication, and accountability. This includes recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, and motivation. Manage the department within budget and utilize resources effectively to meet business needs in a timely manner.
+ Technical Skills: Provide technical guidance on testing and troubleshooting equipment such as GC, GCMS, HPLC, SG, RI, Coulter counter, etc. Offer guidance on batch adjustments based on testing results. Continuously enhance knowledge of products and technology to investigate variations and resolve technical issues with the team. Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem-solving. Serve as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a similar Science/Engineering field.
Experience:
+ Minimum 4-10 years of flavor quality experience and/or training.
+ At least 3 years of leadership experience.
+ Experience managing quality and food safety systems.
Technical Skills:
+ Experience running Sensory Panels. Knowledge of troubleshooting equipment like GC, GCMS, HPLC.
+ Understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends.
Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $91,404 to $138,358 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
