**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Arecibo location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
As the **Quality Manager,** you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. You will provide guidance and direction to multi-disciplinary personnel involved in quality assurance and quality control, you’ll oversee and/or directly lead the implementation of large, high impact, and strategic continuous improvement initiatives for the site and the Division, and support submissions to government agencies with continual negotiations to secure product approvals, among other responsibilities.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Review project plans for achievability and alignment with strategy, approve goals, and monitor milestone achievement.
+ Manage area consistent with business goals.
+ Participate in the development of procedures to implement strategy.
+ Ensure communications flow is not interrupted.
+ Ensure that practices, activities, and projects support the quality or regulatory strategy, contribute to the development of QA or RA and business strategies.
+ Provide advice and counsel to resolve issues where precedents exist, recognize, and remove barriers to project or task completion.
+ Define resource requirements, assign resources to tasks, manage assigned team.
+ Prepare input to the development of processes to meet goals, work on process improvement, direct and plan process implementation.
+ Participate in the translation of customer needs into products and process requirements, identify issues affecting customer satisfaction and recommend programs to address those issues and prevent defects.
+ Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system., Serve as role model for staff, coach staff and team members to enhance professional development.
+ Complete performance reviews and assist with development planning for individuals within the group. Ensure that unit goals and objectives are communicated.
+ Develop personnel, identify backups for their positions, may propose succession plans for management review.
+ Reviews goals of staff, prepares own goals for review.
+ Build an effective team, assess team performance. Make staffing decisions for the area of responsibility.
+ Administer reward and recognition programs., Negotiate internally and externally to secure resources.
+ Resolves conflicts affecting productivity and work expectations within the team.
+ Frequent communication with internal and external customers to obtain information and resolve problems.
+ Manage personnel providing support to product line(s) and/or functions.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree (± 16 years) in a science or engineering related field.
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering roles.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, bio-medical, or electronic industry.
+ Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience in management roles, directly leading teams of exempt and/or non-exempt personnel.
+ Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish).
+ Proficiency in PC-based tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point), and general web-based applications.
+ Knowledge in Statistics, SPC, and Process Monitoring
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field
+ Knowledge in PowerBI, data management/visualization tools
+ ASQ Credentials (i.e: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE))
+ Credentials in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma (i.e.: Green Belt, Black Belt, Shingo/AME/SME) and/or Project Management (i.e.: PMP)

The base pay for this position is $100,000.00 – $200,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
