Job Purpose
Lead Site Quality efforts and manage the functions of the quality department to ensure systems and product compliance. Champion the continuous improvement initiatives that will bring about positive cultural change within the organization. Participate on the Americas Quality Team, Internal Audit program, lead projects/initiatives as assigned, and share best practices across sites.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Actively supports an injury-free team environment.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (Business Excellence System – BES) to meet the ISO 9001, GMP, and GDP standard requirements. Monitor, evaluate, and report on the overall effectiveness of the BES system and key quality indicators. Issue and facilitate corrective actions and assess effectiveness.
+ Champion the development and implementation of long-term quality plans, annual goals, and metrics to drive performance and continual improvement. Drive improvement initiatives such as control plans, failure/root cause analysis, and process capability studies, and assign and manage continual improvement projects. Work closely with Production and Engineering in troubleshooting problematic areas and finding root causes and corrective actions to product, process or quality system non-conformity reports. Assist with scrap detail and internal nonconformance reporting.
+ Assist the Plant Manager and Scranton Leadership Team in making decisions that affect overall operations at the facility.
+ Primary Point-of-Contact to manage and plan internal and external quality related issues related to product, process, raw materials, etc., and for third-party audits. Facilitate quality awareness and education throughout the facility. Overall responsibility for managing the plant corrective action, internal auditing, and continuous improvement programs. Provide employee training in Quality Assurance, Continual Improvement and Technical Information. Facilitate improvement processes, provide mentorship and focus to various teams. Emphasize the importance of individual and team contributions to achieving organizational objectives through daily interaction while enhancing the visibility and presence of the Quality function.
+ Responsible for facilitating Operations team to reduce customer complaints for the plant and effective and responsive corrective actions. Support the reduction of the cost of quality for the plant – yields, returns, complaints, lab costs etc.
+ Supervision, development, and staffing of the Scranton quality department, technicians, methods, workload, and systems.
+ Manage site customer issues. Communicate with internal and external customers regarding product quality, complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives. The key Quality contact with respect to conference calls, site visits and traveling to the customer sites, as necessary. Work with Inside Sales and customers providing leadership in the areas of customer complaints, investigation results, and related corrective actions.
+ Serve on the Americas Internal Audit team
+ Manage local audit process, perform local quality audits, review audit findings, and recommend corrective action. Serve as facilitator and coach on projects and continuous improvement teams to provide support, focus, and energy to achieve effective problem solving and improvement.
+ Participate in the development and improvement of specifications for new and existing products.
+ Responsible for raw material compliance with specifications and product standards.
+ Assist with research and development projects.
+ Support Americas projects as assigned by the Americas Quality & CI Manager.
+ Support NA Product Compliance - Environmental (e.g., REACH, RoHs, Clean Water Act, etc.), Industry specific (e.g., Food industry), Regulations.
+ Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and capabilities in quality systems, continual improvement methods, metrology, and statistical applications.
+ 10-25% travel to MCG ES&S North American facilities, customers, and suppliers. May require some international travel.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other technical degrees.
+ 3 to 5 years of quality management or quality engineering experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.
+ CQM, CQA, CQE, Chemical/Material Engineering with Manufacturing Background.
+ MS Office, ERP Business software, solid communication skills both oral and written.
+ Supervisory skills.
+ Statistical methods.
+ Ability to sell ideas.
+ Lean Six Sigma, CQM, CQA, CQE,
+ ISO Auditor experience.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
+ **The salary range for this position is $92,035 - $115,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.**
