As an integral part of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Quality Leadership Team, you will manage, monitor and continuously improve the quality management system (QMS) as it relates to project activities to ensure they are executed in compliance with specified requirements, applicable standards and regulatory frameworks.
Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager in the Operations portfolio and working with the Business Unit leadership, this role is an integral part of the BDA Quality Leadership Team with key responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Lead, motivate, coach and manage a team of Quality System Specialists to enhance employee performance through expansion of skills and capabilities across geographically dispersed locations, primarily based in Brisbane, Amberley and Williamtown.Lead and drive a culture First Time Quality (FTQ) and continuous improvement across BDA.Oversee and approve the management, planning and execution of audits per the audit schedule under the QMS.Engage and collaborate with the E7 & JS Business Unit Directors and Leaders to support and ensure support for non-conformance management and processes.Develop and lead QMS projects and/or initiatives aligned to the Business's strategic plan and objectives to drive continuous improvement of the QMS.Foster relationships within the Quality Leadership Team, Operations portfolio and with key business stakeholders to manage resources appropriately and ensure deliverables and timelines are met.Manage, monitor and continuously improve the quality management system (QMS) as it relates to project activities to ensure they are executed in compliance with specified requirements, applicable standards and other regulations, as applicable.Input and influence key stakeholders, including senior and executive management with respect to decisions as they relate to Quality.Provide education and coaching on the QMS.Drive integration opportunities across E7 and Joint Systems with regards to the QMS, SMS and EHS requirements.Report on the compliance and adequacy of the QMS against contractual and Quality standards.To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a people leadership position.Tertiary level business or aviation management qualifications or commensurate level professional knowledge and experience.Demonstrated knowledge and application of the ISO 9001 and AS 9110 standards, and working knowledge of AS9100, Safety Management Systems and ISO 31000.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including proven ability to build, motivate and lead a highly skilled team of Quality Specialists.Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, communicate with and influence Senior and Executive level stakeholders.An ability to influence and willingness to drive a positive culture.Professional oral and written communication skills.Ability to effectively prioritise and time manage in a high pressure environment.Be an Australian Citizenship so you have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence clearance up to NV1 level.Desirable (but not essential):
An understanding of Defence and/or Civil aviation regulations in Australia and/or NZ, ideally DASR Part 145 and 21J with a working knowledge of 21G.Lead auditor and event investigation (i.e. ICAM) qualifications, or a willingness to obtainQualification in an Aviation, Maintenance or Engineering related disciplineExperience with Lean & Agile methodologyApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
