The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for this position will provide total quality management advice and consult with the leadership team to set strategic direction and operating plans. Partners with engineering, production, production engineering, tech service, customer service, the laboratory, etc. to maintain and increase the quality level within the organization and resolve quality and technical issues. Determines directions, priorities, assigns resources, and manages budgets with full accountability for the quality results of the plant. Here, you will make an impact by: + Key member of Plant Leadership Team contributing to the plant’s safety, quality, service, cost, lean, sustainability, and people development objectives. + Supporting and interfacing with CSD business team, as well as the other divisions supported by the plant. + Responsible for achieving plant quality related targets. + Working with suppliers to ensure that they can meet the product and process requirements. + Providing training for the plant in quality management systems and tools. + Ensuring ongoing ISO 9001 certification. Coordinating both appropriate auditing and document control in support of our certification. + Ensuring customer satisfaction through resolution of complaints, understanding of customer needs, and manufacturing capability. + Working with sales force and customers on supplier surveys, inquiries and customer visits. + Providing quality lab equipment, testing and methods to appraise output product quality. + Leading Material Review Board to disposition materials that do not conform to specifications. + Understanding technical aspects of the products and processes to enable reliability, ensure capability, meet specifications, and limit liability. + Driving quality improvements through system changes, the understanding of the cost of poor quality, and influence on technical specifications. + Providing direct supervision to assigned employees through principal based leadership, coaching, training, development, allocating work assignment, review of progress in achieving objectives, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc. Understanding and enforcing corporate/location policies and procedures. + Other duties as assigned. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution + Five (5) years of combined manufacturing and/or quality experience in a private, public, government or military environment + One (1) year of combined supervisory and/or managerial experience Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution + Master's degree + Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification + ASQC Certification (Quality Engineer or Manager of Quality) + Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma, ISO, product quality control, quality assurance, in-coming quality, and other quality systems, practices and theories. + Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to Quality + Previous experience across multiple divisions, manufacturing locations, and job functions. + Experience in leading and managing teams Work location: + Nevada, MO Travel: May include up to 10% domestic Relocation: Is authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
