Your Role: 

EMD Electronics is seeking a highly motivated Quality Scientist for our Branchburg, NJ location. The Quality Scientist will perform lab tests to support the production of lithography chemicals and formulations used in the semiconductor fabrication industry. 

The work schedule is primarily first shift (7 am to 3:30 pm) with ability to support second shift or weekend if needed 

Job responsibilities include: 

Prepare samples and add reagents while adhering to all analytical standards 

Raw Material Sampling 

Solvent replenishment and waste solvent removal 

Support lab operation 

Work in a fast-paced QC lab to support local production and deliver results in a timely manner with excellent quality 

Use analytical techniques to measure solvent content, viscosity, specific density, water content, color, normality, pH, metals 

Instrument calibration 

Review test results for conformance to specifications. 

Generate and maintain records of systems, procedures, and test results. 

Calibrate and perform minor repairs on instruments 

Follow written and verbal instructions 

Work safely and cooperatively in a group setting 

Physical Attributes 

Lifting of up to 25 lbs. without assistance 

Work with organic solvents and chemicals 

 

Who you are: 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or other scientific discipline with 3+ years of Science or technology industrial experience in a QC environment 

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

QC experience 

Knowledge of quality processes and statistical fundamentals 

Experience measuring solvent content, viscosity, specific density, water content, color, normality, pH 

Experience with GC, UV/V, Karl Fisher instruments, GFAA, Auto-titrators 

Familiarity with SAP 

Ability to troubleshoot and manage non-standard samples 

Experience in supporting GAGE R&R studies 

Capability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team 

Strong interpersonal skills 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Good organizational abilities 

Understanding of chemistry and laboratory procedures 

Ability to work in a laboratory environment, follow SOPs, and interpret technical data 

Commitment to safety and product quality, ensuring compliance with Quality policy and documented safety and quality procedures 

Proactive team player who thrives in a group environment
