Job Title: Quality Specialist

Job Description

As a Quality Specialist, you will lead and conduct environmental monitoring activities for the production facility, acting as the site expert in Hygienic Design, Hygienic Zoning, and Master Sanitation. You will develop work instructions and procedures for hygienic design and plant sanitation programs to increase understanding and eliminate recurrence. Additionally, you will organize and conduct training to improve the understanding and performance of plant hygienic design non-conformances and follow-up.

ResponsibilitiesLead and conduct environmental monitoring activities for the production facility.Act as the site expert in Hygienic Design, Hygienic Zoning, and Master Sanitation.Develop work instructions and procedures for hygienic design and plant sanitation programs.Organize and conduct training to improve understanding and performance of plant hygienic design non-conformances and follow-up.Initiate continuous improvement actions and lead root cause analysis for deviations related to environmental monitoring.Report swabbing results as a KPI to the appropriate parties in a timely fashion.Collaboratively work with departments on complaints, new product start-up, and internal non-conformances to the disposition of raw materials and products.Organize and conduct training to improve understanding and performance of SOPs and GMPs.Write work instructions.Ensure inventory is properly managed.Essential SkillsExperience in quality, HAACP, FSMA, SQF, GMP.Leadership experience and ability to drive results and continuous improvement.Experience in leading meetings and programs.Knowledge of RCA/CAPA and 5S experience.Sensory experience.High School Diploma with quality assurance or BS Degree in the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.).5 years minimum experience in food quality or BS Degree in Sciences.6 months of experience with Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsSAP or ERP experience is a plus.Bilingual in Spanish is a very big plus.Work Environment

The work hours are 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday, with mandatory overtime covering for people on the 1st shift who are on vacation or out sick. You will not be asked to cover off shifts. You will work with 20 production employees, 2 day shift techs, and 2 night shift techs. The culture is very self-motivated and independent, and you will be expected to lead the shift in quality. However, there will still be a shift supervisor from production that you can reach out to for assistance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
