Position Summary:

The Quality Supervisor plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance teams to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards.  Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance Department in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, onboarding, developing, and training employees, creating a successful cross-trained team; managing employee schedules for both first and second shift teams, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Ability to inspect complex machine parts.Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.Designs and implements quality assurance training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers.Determines required training for team, implements approved training plan, conducts training, and documents completed training.Partners with Operations Teams to deliver Quality related training to identified teams.Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.Decides whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality assurance engineer.Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities to include performance evaluations.Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

Required Skills:

Possess good written/oral communications skills, as well as the ability to present his/her views in a clear and compelling manner. Positive can-do orientation. Able to deal effectively with a broad range of personalities.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated project/team management capabilities that can meet aggressive deadlines.Strong facilitation skills, conflict resolution and project management skills.Interacts well and with a high degree of urgency with customers, and at all levels within the organization, as well as across organizations.Confidence in working with ambiguity and handling complexity.

Required Experience:

3 years of Supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.Experience using ERP/MRP systems.

Level of Education:

Bachelor's degree (B.
