Quality Supervisor
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of Quality Operators who check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process and finished products. Supervise, coach, and mentor team members; prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules plus targets are met. Monitor the performance of equipment and processes; identify, troubleshoot, and resolve scheduling problems in order to maintain efficient operations. Prepare activity and progress reports so that recurring problems, either with the quality of the product or the reliability of testing procedures, can be identified or addressed.

Performance Expectations
Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements. Maintain department 5S requirements. Department participation in Kaizen program. Investigates complaints on existing products and coordinate with Quality Engineers for response to customer. Promotes Fast Response to quality issues. Establishes work procedures, prioritizes testing activities, and schedules quality personnel that may include outside inspection services. Support product launches and be involved in quality planning. Utilizing good communication skills, provide technical and process direction to Quality and production personnel. Provides leadership, mentoring and supervision of Quality personnel Develops and recommends test procedures for products, raw materials and maintains test equipment. Supports production requirements. Evaluate employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods. Maintain training matrix for inspection personnel. Continuously improve performance based on the key performance indicators. Focus on the reduction of COPQ and scrap. Analyzes and resolves or assists workers in solving work problems. Oversee the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs, and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate production waste. Supports IATF internal audit system and participates in LPA. Participates in other facility teams and programs as assigned. Directs and advises personnel in special testing. Maintains a thorough knowledge of new developments, technology and processes. Expert in CMM (Zeiss equipment) Calibration experience, including strong mechanical surface plate inspection knowledge Monthly H&S talks and audits. Direct supervision of the quality inspectors and Gauge Technicians in the facility. Develops, justifies, and implements QA process improvements. Compiles and analyzes test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions. Responsible for gauging MSA, calibrations, procurement, and repair. Tests and analyzes sample products, and provide feedback and recommendations based on results. Adhere to all H&S and environmental laws and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Credentials
· Completion of secondary school is required.
· ASQ Certification and/or certificate in QA Program an asset.
Desired Characteristics
· Five years of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment preferred.
· Ability to interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Knowledge and experience in gauging methods, gauge selection, calibration, and MSA. Understand testing and inspection requirements.
· Speak with managers and supervisors to explain progress of jobs and to obtain instructions and tasks. Teach employees and less experienced workers to perform inspection tasks. Organize and lead meetings with employees
· Review priorities and diverse skills of workers to ensure job tasks are assigned to appropriate workers.
· Develop work schedules for quality personnel. Develop and monitor detailed test plans, gauge plans, quality procedures and inspection requirements.
· Ability to work independently to provide professional guidance and oversight to inspection tasks and projects. Assume a wide variety of roles to coordinate job tasks with those of junior workers, co-workers and subcontractors. Work according to company mandates for communication, meetings and projects.
· Functional knowledge of SPC, ISO9001 / IATF16949 / ISO14001. CMM Programming experience (Zeiss Equipment). Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines and equipment. Ability to use basic computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Strong knowledge of GD & T
· Ability to continuously learn to keep up with new technologies, new products, new information and regulatory changes within industry. Participate in seminars, courses, and other learning opportunities through the organization.
· Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lead, delegate tasks, provide guidance, and train others.
