Quality System Senior Manager

Who will you be working with?

The Components Quality organization provides leadership, expertise and resources that engage and partner with teams to generate meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will implement effective quality assurance methodologies that monitor, improve, control, and maintain quality products and processes for Wabtec and its suppliers; balancing reactive and proactive activity.

As a member of Components Quality, you will be responsible for implementing effective quality assurance methodologies that monitor, improve, control, and maintain quality products and processes for Wabtec and its suppliers.

Essential Responsibilities

Administration/Metrics

Assist the business units in maintaining and assessing Quality Certifications including ISO and AAR.Provide quality metric coordination and targets for the Components team including corporate KPIs, operations metrics and priority updates.Utilize Business Process Management Systems (e.g. Quality Management Systems, Integrated Management Systems)Present to internal teams and leadership on metrics, project status and researchSchedule audits internally and with third party auditing agencies for assigned area(s)

Reactive

Engage in all infancy/warranty returns for your assigned area(s) (NCRs). Ensure severity ratings align to corporate definitions and launch corrective actions as appropriate.Lead NCR responsiveness with a sense of curiosity and urgency on customer quality and reliability related issuesCoordinate with Sales/Engineering functions to provide customer support when necessary. This includes product containment, rework, root cause analysis/actions, presentations, etc.Manage corrective action (CAR) closure; track records are completed in a timely fashion, while ensuring that the root cause is not just a symptom, and the actions are strong enough to prevent recurrence.

Proactive

Identify process risks, implement appropriate control points and preventive measures. Ensure the plant’s production processes are executed per relevant specifications. This is accomplished by performing process/special process audits.Perform process/special process audits to ensure processes are complied with and to determine if improvements to processes are necessary.Analyze, monitor, and assist in driving consistent improvements in quality, including the Cost of Poor Quality.Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify areas for focused product / process improvement actions and ensure those actions are implemented in a timely fashion and in an effective and sustainable manner (identified through DFMEA, PFMEA, product testing, etc.)Develop business metrics to accurately reflect performance and to effectively drive accountabilitySupport new product introductions to ensure testing, validation and approvals are completed. Ensure controls are in place to address risk areas.Provide training to sites where/as appropriate, to advance complianceCoordinate business updates on emerging issues and actions for closure.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$102,500.00-$146,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
