Quality Systems Engineer
Job Title: Quality Systems Engineer *HYBRID*

Job Description

As a Quality Systems Engineer, you will coordinate the implementation of requirements for new products to ensure proper production that complies with customer specifications. You will interface with suppliers and customers, participate in the Spec registration process, and be responsible for key quality system functions. Additionally, you will assist in continuous improvement projects, recommend and coordinate improvement activities, and formulate corrective and preventative actions based on root cause analysis.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate implementation of requirements for new products to ensure proper production of the material to comply with customer requirements.Interface with suppliers and customers as required.Actively participate in the Spec registration process.Be responsible for one of the key quality system functions.Assist in continuous improvement projects and recommend and coordinate improvement activities.Coordinate online implementation of quality improvement and quality training programs.Formulate corrective and preventative actions based on root cause analysis.Demonstrate and train personnel in root cause analysis methods such as 5 WHY analysis.Coordinate and participate in investigations on customer complaints and improvement plans.Coordinate and participate in investigations on internal issues.Make statistical analysis and develop statistical controls for process parameters.Actively participate in the Excursion Team, including disposition of potentially discrepant material following OCAP’s, RFC’s, and DMR’s as required.Present 8D analysis and disposition recommendations to the Material Review Board.Demonstrate and train personnel in risk analysis methods such as FMEA analysis and SWOT.Research and incorporate improved risk analysis tools and assist in applying the correct tools appropriate to the given problem of the functional area.Participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Process Control System (PCS).Participate in the Internal Auditing Team and Change Control Activities of the assigned area.Demonstrate technical knowledge of IATF core quality tools (MSA, SPC, and APQP – PPAP & FMEA).Plan and execute internal audits and ensure that internal audits comply with quality standards.Participate in audits, write audit reports, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions resulting from audit findings.Conduct supplier audits as needed, requiring travel to various supplier locations (approximately 5 to 10 supplier audits per year).Coordinate the supplier complaint process (Y3) to ensure that root cause, corrective/preventive actions are carried out and acceptable.Administer supplier change management activities directed at SPX.Coordinate the supplier development program as required by the current quality standards.Maintain and improve the supplier handbook and ensure compliance by suppliers.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years experience with Quality Management Standards (ISO9001 & IATF).Minimum of 2 years experience with root cause analysis methods, including 5 WHY analysis.Minimum of 2 years experience with IATF core quality tools (MSA, SPC, and APQP – PPAP & FMEA analysis).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in quality engineering, root cause analysis, risk management, and audit.Technical knowledge of quality management standards and core quality tools.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00
