As a **Team Leader** you will lead and co-ordinate the quality team in the Paint Plant driving back defects and ensuring the customer receives a defect free product. **Responsibilities:** + Continually monitor and audit Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics within your span of control as per Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guidelines meeting targets + Reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action. communicate to appropriate departments/personnel and at daily start of shift meetings + Record defect information in detail to the quality gate visual management boards/ management systems + Clearly communicate defects to Paint Operations and support area personnel as defects are identified + Provide detailed quality feedback with quality alerts and quality meetings + Participate in defect investigations and component inspection as required + Standard Work / Training - Maintain the skills matrix for the team to 100% versatility, ensure standard work is updated. + Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost within your team operation. + Lead the team to meet the daily demand of the job and root cause analyse events leading to process failure. + Generate and work on Continuous Improvement ideas for your assigned area using the Continuous Improvement (CI) process + Adhere to the Company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices and reporting appropriately. + Undertake training and further learning as required for the job and the BCP Safety Recipe. + Maintain leadership development required learning. + Lead and attend relevant meetings to this role. **Required qualifications:** + Experience of CPS processes to reduce/eliminate cost. + Experience of the BIQ process, reporting defects, root cause analysis. + Identify with Caterpillar's belief in the value of continuous improvement and a team-based culture + Possess a good understanding of paint practices and knowledge of paint related 1Especs + As a team member the ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives + A self motivated individual, with the flexibility to deal with individual and team behaviours, you should be able to motivate others with your advice and experience + Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills + Must be flexible and support with extra hours if required + Willing to work on a multi shift pattern + High level of attention to detail + Ability to work through quality issues in a methodical manner **Top Candidates will also have:** + Previous supervisory experience desirable + Knowledge of Paint Processes **Flexible working arrangements will be considered for this role, in-line with the needs of the business** **What You Will Get** **Job Title:** Quality Team Leader (Paint Plant) - Afternoon Shift **Contract** : Permanent **Salary:** £33,890 rising to £37,500 once competent + 20% shift premium **Benefits** : 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Bonus, Flexible Buy in Benefits such as Private Medical, Healthcare, Vison & Dental schemes, Green Car Scheme and more, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Contributory Pension Scheme (Contribution double by Company up to 10%), Free Car Parking, Caterpillar Advantage website **Location** : Desford, Leicestershire **Hours:** Mon: 14:00 – 23:00, Tue-Thurs: 14:00 - 22:30 Fri: 10:45 – 15:45 **Travel** : Not required **Job Reference:** R0000287385 **Closing Date:** 29th January **About Caterpillar** Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
