Job Description

The Quality Technician plays a key role in helping to ensure that Agilent designs and manufactures high quality products that are compliant with environmental, electromagnetic, and safety requirements. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to analyze the performance of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic components and systems for a wide variety of Agilent instruments. They will be responsible for the operation of test equipment to produce and apply test conditions (such as vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, high altitude, and various electromagnetic signals) to a product under test and record the results. In addition, the technician will perform product safety testing to demonstrate the ability of a product to conform to applicable worldwide safety standards, and will also perform other environmental and electromagnetic testing to verify product compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Test and evaluate products and assemblies in accordance with the Hardware Test Center (HTC) procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory (electromagnetic (EMC) and safety) and Agilent requirements

Generate test reports and submit data sheets to engineering for review and conclusion; thoroughly document any changes to processes or procedures

Maintain calibration records for the HTC and coordinate calibration activities via the site calibration process

Help maintain test lab equipment (preventative maintenance, calibration and repairs); help maintain records and standards, and perform general lab housekeeping

Work with Quality engineers to define and implement test standards, configurations, and improvements; verify that the tests meet required measurement specifications

Utilize a wide range of test equipment to troubleshoot product and test set-up issues

Additional Responsibilities may include:

Provide training and assistance to others on how to use equipment and perform a test

Develop plans and schedules for equipment submitted for testing; make adjustment as necessary to keep the schedule current

Control appropriate software systems; develop hardware systems to complete testing

Understand and promote the use of statistical techniques

Qualifications

AA/AS/AE degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent

3+ years related experience

Demonstrated ability to apply electronic principles in test, calibration and repair of systems (from products and assemblies to the component level)

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, technical level)

Proficient in the use of standard measurement tools and test equipment

Demonstrated ability to work independently; results/accountability focus; teamwork

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Teams, Agile, SAP

Experience with GC and GCMS Systems

HP VEE Programming or equivalent

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $30.08 - $47.00/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
