Quality Tech III - Second Shift

This position is involved directly in the calibration, certification and record retention of various equipment, gages and tooling used to inspect Aerospace and Defense parts. This position maintains our equipment, gages and tooling, as well as ensuring internal and external calibration data is recorded and captured within designated software.
This position also requires contact of 3rd party calibration companies to perform calibration or service on specific equipment. Use of precision inspection tools and equipment, ability to read and understand certificate of conformities and procedures are required in the day-to-day activities. Involvement in other inspections, such as, but not limited to, creating non-conforming material reports, receiving inspection and 3rd party certificate of conformance review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Coordinates and schedules calibration of various equipment and gages
+ Reviews calibration specifications and follows all standard calibration procedures
+ Maintains calibration records in computer system
+ Creates non-conformance reports for gages out of calibration
+ Determines if gages are worn out and initiates order of replacement gages
+ Coordinates with outside vendors for equipment calibration
+ Assists in supporting the QC department and other quality processes
+ Performs inspection and calibrates all in-house gauges and tools used for product acceptance.
+ Maintain documentation and evidence of calibration on all tools and gauges.
+ Review calibration results for tightening or reducing of calibration frequency.
+ Responsible for traceability and control of master gauges to the national bureau of standards.
+ Must be able to use gage blocks, micro balls, thread wires, weight class, calibration arm, super-micrometer, linear check torque transducer, and height gage.
+ Must be familiar with various gauges and calibration methods & equipment.
+ Be familiar with MIL-STD, ISO, & ANSI standards, and gauge calibration procedures.
+ Must have good knowledge of reading blueprints, basic shop math and record keeping skills.
+ Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plan.
Qualifications:
+ Two years of calibration experience minimum; aerospace industry experience preferred.
+ Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
+ Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Attention to detail, attention to accuracy in work tasks, organizational skills
+ Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
+ Ability to be flexible with job duties
+ High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and three years related experience or training in accordance with the defined skills training matrix progression; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, it may be occasionally loud enough where hearing protection is required.
Work hours – 5 days, 8 hours a day, with overtime to meet the demands of the job.
Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $20.45 to $34.00 per hour.
