Quality Techician I

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician I is responsible for final inspection of FAA products to return to service, final inspection of OEM products, receiving inspection of purchased components, scans and maintains records, part marking and in-process inspection.  Supports calibration of inspection equipment, RCCA for warranties, continuous improvement, internal audits, and ensures products are processed to the highest quality.  Utilizes inspection equipment and blueprints ensuring products conform to the product requirements.  Understands and interprets OEM Manual repair instructions. 

Key Position Responsibilities:

Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS first. Inspects, tests, and evaluates products and production equipment Ensures products adhere to quality standards Collects, analyzes reports data supporting continuous improvement Supports investigation of warranty returns and/or Customer Concerns (CCN) through RCCA. Supports internal audit processes to FAA, other regulatory and customer requirements. Perform return to service inspection, AS9102 FAI inspection, “Return As Is” and Scrap certifications, pressure and flow tests for customer products. Perform in-process inspection Perform basic measurement using micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages and optical comparators. Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gages and height gages. Calibrate company and personal tools for product inspection or testing Maintain Shelf-Life item control. Interpret drawings, certifications and military/industry specifications. Scan material certifications and paperwork. Create rejection notices for non-conforming product Support MRB activities, achieving optimal disposition of non-conforming material. Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues. Maintains production router, inspection, x-ray and other records Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers to develop strong relationships. Ability to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative. Perform FPI and other nondestructive testing Perform part marking including: Chemical Etching, vibro-peening, and/or permanent inking. Cross train in other Quality duties as necessary. Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, handled for proper disposal. As required, performs work assignments as directed.

Required qualification / Education / and/or Experience:

1 year of quality engineering experience High school diploma or a GED at a minimum. Must be proficient with Microsoft office suite. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and approved technical data. Ability to organize priorities, daily tasks and completed actions on time, in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to pass DOT/FAA drug screening. Must be able to pass FAA required vision test Must be able to write, read and speak English Must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain a US Passport

Physical Demands:

Light to moderate physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility. Must have the ability to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust to focus (Individual cannot be color blind). Must meet a minimum of 20/30 with correction in one eye using the Snellen Eye Chart.

Preferred Qualifications:

FPI Level II Technical Degree Proficient in Excel, organize and analyze data, including pivot tables. Perform Final Inspection with return to service tags (FAA, CAAC, and JCAB) Working knowledge of FAR regulations and their applications. Strong technical background due to experience in different mechanical and technical fields. Previous experience with airlines, MRO and Repair Station operation companies is a plus. Knowledge of Quantum ERP software. The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of aircraft components with a technical knowledge of rigid tube components and their operating systems.
