As a Quality Technician at SARGENT Manufacturing, you will be working to execute on new and existing products. This will include, inspection plans, control plans, collaborating to resolve quality issues and developing proactive solutions while streamlining processes. You will be a key resource to improve the application of inspection tools such as Vision systems, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and others.
This position will sit onsite full-time New Haven, CT and will report to the Quality Manager.
What you will be doing
Develop, implement and audit Process Control Plans and data collections for machining manufacturing processes. Perform receiving inspection, first article utilizing different automated and manual equipment for inspection. Utilize precision measuring tools such as Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Inspection Vision systems micrometer, height gage, dial indicator, calipers, Optical Comparator or other optical inspection systems. Perform mechanical and visual inspections to ensure products meet standards and procedures. Verify conformance to applicable procedures and other approved documents. Provide acceptance or rejection for compliance to established standards and processes, record inspection results by completing reports. Document issues noticed during measurement or visual inspection tests. Evaluate and interpret manuals, blueprints, specifications along with other technical data. Support company quality system such as maintaining Gages Calibration system, nonconforming material reporting and Corrective Actions. Write Non-conformance Reports and collaborate with production teams to establish corrective actions to permanently eliminate nonconformances. Assist with containment actions that arise from nonconformances.
What we are looking for
Associate’s Degree in a technical field required or equivalent work experience in the manufacturing field. 5 years + experience in Quality Control Processes which includes, inspection, testing, and root cause analysis. Must have experience using mechanical inspection equipment and blueprints readings. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programing is required. Must have hands-on experience working with electronics or hardware. Demonstrated hands-on experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT). Ability to read blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods. Strong technical skills support electronics inspection documentation and data collection.
