The Quality Technician is responsible for ultimately ensuring the quality of parts delivered to customers from SBD Shelby Operations. They perform quality audits and inspections of incoming and outgoing parts according to SBD Shelby quality standards utilizing blueprints, bill of materials, and other available specifications. The Quality Technician communicates on a regular basis with all levels of the organization regarding products issues and collaborates with suppliers on non-conforming parts. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform quality audits in production, distribution, and receiving.Identify parts with no part numbers.Enter all audit data into the IQS system.Perform bin checks as a result of customer complaint and document findings. Compare parts to prints or associated specifications to ensure parts are conforming and if part is a finished good, compare to Bill of Material. Collaborate with suppliers on non-conforming product to determine disposition, notify materials group when needed. Ensure all measuring tools are calibrated and in the proper condition. Responsible for daily 6S activities, such as, housekeeping, maintaining an organized and safe work area, and any appropriate paperwork/check sheets.Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (Advanced education preferred, but not required)Good PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn SBD related software.Ability to utilize critical thinking skillsAbility to interpret blueprints and associated specifications.Basic measuring skills.Basic math skills.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Ability to work, succeed, and contribute in a team environment.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to remain focused while managing multiple tasksExperience/Educational Requirements:
