Salary Range: $19.00-24.00/hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am

Position Summary

Responsible for following defined quality control procedures supporting flexible packaging production, ensuring only acceptable components, assemblies and finished goods are approved and accepted and all activity is fully documented in accordance with written procedures.  Responsible for quality of product and paperwork, incoming, and in process inspection, and working in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Tasks

Work safely at all times. Understand and use quality assurance specifications, standard test procedures, blueprints/drawings, and other engineering specifications. Perform incoming inspections of materials and components Perform in-process quality control inspections and document results of tests/inspections Identify, segregate and label non-conforming product.  Notify first/second shift and management of non-conforming product. Work closely with production and Quality Assurance Manager to make go/no-go quality decisions. Maintain quality records as per documented procedures, including test data and retained samples.  Communicate inspection findings with appropriate Quality, Production and Engineering personnel. Assemble job books for production Assist with special projects. Report food safety concerns Maintain work area per food safety requirements. Food Safety – Maintain a focus on food safety at all times, as outlined in our GMP policy under the guidance of SQF requirements. Support production areas as needed. Set-up and use measurement and testing equipment and other assorted quality control equipment in good working condition.  Identify equipment that requires repair. Meet quality specifications for the assigned work areas. Read, understand and follow Work Order Book and routing instructions. Move material, components and F/G pallets to designated hold areas. Accurately complete, maintain and review required documentation for quality records. Follow all ISO policies and procedures. Participate is cross functional improvement teams. Perform housekeeping responsibilities necessary to maintain a clean environment for quality testing throughout the shift. Adhere to all company and department work and safety rules, along with EHS policies/procedures. Comply with all company policies, and all quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as any regulatory or statutory requirements related to the position. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

Strong attention to detail, good math skills and the ability to measure with a ruler using both English and metric. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well with others in a team environment Able to adjust to changing operating conditions quickly and efficiently Ability to operate equipment in Control Environment Room Ability to complete all quality testing and documentation required per job Ability to read, write and understand English Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be capable of using hand tools. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required. 

This role operates in a professional environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
