The Quality Inspector is responsible for regularly inspecting production parts to ensure that conformance to known quality standards is maintained. This position position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for Operating CMMsFollow the documented Procedures and Work instructions as noted in the job training needs for this positionAssist Engineering with their CMM needs, R&R and Capability StudiesUnderstand material control including MIR’s and final audit transactionsPerform Process AuditsReview SPC charts / data on the production floor and act on trends or out of spec points to assure ongoing process performance. Audit production processes as neededAssist Quality and Engineering staff with various quality issuesAnalyze and investigate the root cause of external and internal non-conforming product and make proposals to QE for corrective actionsInitiate, help execute containment and help maintain and update the NCM database for timely Control of Non-Conforming Material. Report quality metrics or data and provide analysis where necessaryProvide support for internal plant initiatives, including safety elementsSupport the quality improvement, cost reduction, and customer initiative programs with the production team. Maintain a clean work area ensuring strict adherence to the 5S concepts Requirements One year minimum of Quality experiencePrefer an Associate Degree in Quality or related body of knowledgeKnowledge of quality systems, documentation and conceptsKnowledge of quality statistics such as SPC and Capability, preferredEffective human relations skills, including good listening ability and the capability to work within teamsKnowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point, PLEX, IATF-TS16949 quality systemExperience working with automotive industry specifications
