POSITION SUMMARY

This position will require setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of QC hematology analyzers. This position will require monitoring instrument performance throughout the QC process and troubleshooting the instrument when necessary. This position will test hematology products for homogeneity during the bottling process by following established methods.  The expectation for this position is to setup and QC product on 50% of the laboratory instruments and troubleshoot as necessary. Other tasks include proofing labels and assay sheets. This position will adhere to safety regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform and interpret laboratory homogeneity testing on control products.Proofread documents, labels, and assay sheets.Troubleshoot the bottling and QC instruments when necessaryPerform manual testing on controlsPerform QC testing on 50% of the laboratory instruments.Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Position requires an MLT/MLS degree, Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or related field of study with 0-1 year of laboratory experience.  Attention to detail, organization, and data analysis skills are required.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.  Computer entry and typing skills are required.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and clinical test methods.Skills pertaining to instrumentation.Ability to act independently on routine testing.Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete testing in an efficient manner.Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high-level accuracy.Ability to work independently and with a team.Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.).
