Quality Technician

Weekend Day Shift 6am-6pm

Job Purpose

Responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and for accurately recording results of tests within the Quality laboratory.  Conduct tests to support operations performance, CQV’s and quality validations.  Position responsibility also includes maintaining laboratory and following good laboratory practices.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

Performs tests and experiments with and without supervision.Accurately records data and assists in its organization and analysis.Uses computerized data acquisition and control systems.Performs required maintenance of laboratory equipment and machinery.Communicate quality issues with production and maintenance personnel; provide assistance in correcting quality problems.Review Statistical Process Control (SPC) data.Evaluate data for consistency and compliance.Communicate non-compliance with production and maintenance personnel.Provide requested SPC data to necessary recipients.Participate in problem solving sessions to solve production issues based on SPC data.

Maintain quality computer and NWA Quality Analyst.Ensure data is accurate and meets customer specifications.Ensure process and quality data is backed up regularly to the ‘powervault’ server.Organize and maintain clean work stations.Communicate out of specification conditions to production personnel.

Collect, review and maintain quality data and documentation from the production floor and equipment.Complete data collection on all mold and process qualification runs.  Coordinate with the Quality System Manager on all data collection.Maintain measurement instrument accuracy.  Calibrate instruments as necessary and document all calibration and repairs.Assist on production line when coverage is needed.

Experience and Educational Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent GEDPackaging Lab experience preferred.
