Summary/Objective Responsible for quality operations in divisional areas to ensure production lines produce a product that meets customer quality and delivery requirements. This includes but are not limited to: Measuring process performance, investigation, and reporting in support of manufacturing operations. Investigation and corrective actions of vendor related opportunities. Document nonconformance reports. Report nonconformance reports. Coordinate with production and quality leaders on a variety of quality issues. Provide appropriate blueprint change request to engineering. Complete and submit organizational paperwork to include days off requests, team member evaluations, corrective actions, and various reports and checklists. Ensure compliance of all divisional safety policies and procedures. Competencies Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English). Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, material specifications, frame prints, measurements, schedules, part prints. Must be able to meet time deadlines for company projects. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate understanding of capability studies. Must understand appropriate equipment including: Calipers, Tape Measure, Gages, Micrometers, height gages. Must possess successful problem-solving skills. Must be able to adapt to new system and process integration. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow team members, customers, etc. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day. Must comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Must be able to perform root cause analysis and containment processes. Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have supervisory responsibilities upon hiring. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to walk large distances (in all local weather conditions) to retrieve/return components is a must. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. Some Saturdays and overtime are expected. Travel Travel to plants in Northern Indiana. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer knowledge. Problem solving skills. Critical thinking skills. Basic knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software; D365 and understand the Mobile Device and scanner. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Preferred Education and Experience Previous quality management experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate. College degree is preferred Leadership Additional Eligibility Qualifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Proven quality assurance and auditing experience in a similar industry preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills preferred.
