The Quality Technician will perform product sampling, inspection and testing and document the results on the appropriate forms and data collection systems provided. The individual will also be expected to have the proper knowledge and expertise to navigate the various computer software programs and databases required to perform these tasks and other duties within the scope of the job. Other requirements of the position include familiarity with the product line, the ability to generate and disposition NCMR's, the proper knowledge to operate and maintain test equipment, assist with incoming raw material inspection, returned material inspection, part inspection for PPAP's, participation in gage studies, write work instructions, and auditing processes and inspection results performed by manufacturing operators. The position requires the person to be a self starter, a good communicator who actively participates in department functions and can provide suggestions towards continuous improvement. The position will require the individual to work overtime to provide shift coverage for vacations and the start-up of additional manufacturing processes. Participation in audits required when audit involves areas which fall under the technician's job duties.
The individual is expected to perform these duties in compliance with company rules, plant rules and all safety policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
Product Testing
+ Perform product testing for in-process and finished goods
+ Audit test results from non-QA personnel
+ Assist in PPAP data generation
+ Assist in Gage study data generation
+ Generate NCMRs and communicate information from them to applicable personnel
Data Management
+ Hardcopy and electronic data entry
+ Wonderware data system use
+ Reaction to statistical trends when presented
Special Quality Testing
+ New product testing methods data collection
+ Provide summary and data on experimental tests
+ Test incoming materials as needed
Assist with Quality Systems
+ Assist in writing of plant procedures and work instructions
+ Perform audits of processes and documentation as needed
Qualifications/Experience:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent, required
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing setting, required
+ Expertise with computers required
+ Basic math language and writing skills
+ AS/400 knowledge desirable, familiarity with Unifrax products, preferred
+ ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT).SPC and statistical training a plus
+ Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour continuous shift (4 on/ 4 off, rotating days/nights)
Compensation:
$20 - $30 / hour
