Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Technician for a 3-month contract position covering maternity leave. The position starts immediately and runs approximately until May 19th, 2025. This is a full-time role on the 1st shift, from 5:15 am to 1:15 pm, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate must have no food allergies, as the role involves handling nuts, dairy, and other allergen products. You will conduct standardized tests on intermediate and finished food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations regarding factors such as size, color, and flavor.
ResponsibilitiesConduct standardized tests on food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.Perform flavor analysis, including tasting products containing allergens such as wheat, milk, soy, egg, peanut, tree nut, and sesame.Check the metal detector to ensure proper operation and report malfunctions.Gather retention, microbiological, and control samples from raw materials and finished products.Prepare microbiological sample composites and paperwork for laboratory pickup.Examine and approve product labels before printing.Place products on hold and assist with investigations as needed.Complete daily paperwork as assigned.Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations (SQF code, Plant programs, HACCP, GMP’s and policies). Enforce and report deficiencies when appropriate.Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes affecting quality.Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality problems and ensure continuous improvement of processes.Obtain environmental samples.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills2 years of college and 1 – 2 years of experience, or a 4-year high school diploma with 3 – 5 years of progressively responsible related experience.Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection.Familiarity with SOP, HACCP, and food industry standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Work Environment
This role is based in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The Calhoun Road Plant, where solid products like cakes are manufactured, can be a bit colder. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
