This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

Perform in-process and final inspections on every unit being shipped from their assigned line(s)Train line associates on the proper techniques for assembling power quality productsProcess nonconformance material. Notify the Quality Engineer when supplier trends developProcess engineering drawing/BOM discrepanciesPerform incoming material inspections Interact with the Test Department and communicate defects back to lineWork with the responsible associate(s) to correct the defect and train associate(s) to prevent future defects.

Qualifications for the role

High school diploma required or Associate Degree with 2 years technical/trade certificate or Bachelors preferredMinimum 1 to 3 years of practical work experience in an electrical/electronics related position/ fieldUnderstanding of 5S, Problem Solving and Standard WorkAble to use Q-PulseUnderstanding of electrical, general and high voltage safety proceduresKnowledge of basic statistics and control chartsStrong computer skills (use of MS Excel, Word and ability to master new software quickly)Ability to read and understand engineering documentation (blueprints, schematics, change orders, BOM’s)Basic electrical & electronic theory (Ohms law, AC/DC, Ns, GNDs, gate drives, passive and active component properties, etc)Basic component level understanding (XFMR, SCR, IGBT, Wiring, Capacitors, etc)Basic troubleshoot to the component levelAbility to set-up and use electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)Basic assembly skills (soldering and proper use of common hand and simple power tools)Able to write basic work instructions and quality alertsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
