**Responsibilities**
**SUMMARY**
Responsible for monitoring the stages of closure production from raw materials to finished goods, and ensuring the necessary forms, work instructions, procedures, and equipment are provided to Berry and/or are being used by Berry in order to be compliant to determined requirements. The Quality Technician works with various entities: external raw material suppliers to resolve issues with product acceptance, manufacturing to ensure they have the necessary tools required to monitor the produced product, and the end customers to ensure they receive the required quality documents/samples.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Monitor incoming raw materials.
+ Verify incoming certificates.
+ Test asrequired.
+ Maintain color master fileandcertificate log.
+ Process raw material non-conformance and communicate issues to suppliers
+ Process internal non-conformances and communicate issues to manufacturing management.
+ Inspectproductretains.
+ Maintainretaininspection log.
+ Perform any testing asrequired.
+ Internal Auditing of procedures, processes, warehouse, and product.
+ Maintain production records.
+ Coordinate retention times and sending of records to outside storage.
+ Ensure quality documents/samples for outgoing product are acceptable, including Certificates of Analysis, Pre-Shipment Samples, Tailgate Samples.
+ Coordinate Quality Department projects as needed.
+ Support manufacturing within data acquisition software (Lighthouse).
+ Metrology support – measure product on Comparator, FTIR, Functional testing, etc.
+ Provide support for product/process validation testing.
+ Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP policies.
**Qualifications**
**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
+ High School diploma or GED isrequired;Associate’sdegree in plastics, automation, or equivalent technical discipline preferred
+ 2-3 yearsofexperience in manufacturingorQuality Assuranceisrequired
+ Working knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, ISO procedures, GMP, statistical methods, control charts and SPChelpful
+ Computer application skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) necessary
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)required
+ Self-motivatedwith the ability to work independentlynecessary
