QC AREA
This position is responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of Axalta Coating Systems products through lab work and evaluation as required. Using this knowledge, incumbent will complete evaluation and adjustments in an accurate and timely manner; the goal is to have the initial evaluation and approval or rejection with adjustment completed and communication with production team within 30 minutes. Associate must show the capability of making good decisions and getting others involved when needed.
QC Test methods
This position requires the review and build capability to carry out all test methods as well as build capability to adjust when product does not meet these requirements. The associate is required to review yearly and complete sign off and may need to perform a task during a Job Cycle Check, upon request. Associates are also required to be able complete calibration verifications. Associate must be capable of manual spray process as well as proper maintenance and cleaning of spray guns.
SAP Process
This position is responsible entering all results in (QA32/QE51N) SAP (good or bad) in a timely fashion. Associate must be capable of completing Quality notifications for adjustments as well as to record quality metrics (QM01). Associate must be able to close orders (QA32/COR6) for QC side as well as production. Associate must also know pre-batching process (COR2) as well as reviewing history before release in case need of pre-adjustment.
Datacolor Process
This position is responsible for reading panels to standard and adjust on as needed basis using system. Associate must also have capability to review history and make comparisons for adjustments.
Capability and Direction
Associate must develop skill sets required to make quality adjustments in the scope of work allowed in the system as well as determine when it is time to reach out for support from Manager or chemist.
QC Process Room
Associate is required to be capable to function in process room with capability of running lab extruder, strand mill, and rot-tapper as well as capability to identify issues to equipment if they arise.
Customer Requirements
Associate must have willingness and capability to review documents and prepare any customer special requirements as well as ask the questions if not clear to ensure customer satisfaction. Print COA ‘s and review before sending to make sure correct information entered. (ZUQ_PRINT _COA in SAP)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interact with salesforce, R & D, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to address any problems and performance testing and manufacturing of commercial products
Review, research and complete tests in support of product manufacture
Provide clear and accurate documentation and direction of all decisions to meet requirements
Champion system processes: SAP, Datacolor, Document Control, Filing, and Communication.
Utilize product outcomes to determine product adjustment for future manufacture
Audit and follow up on the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions
Maintain any related Quality System Documents (ISO 9001 /TS 16949)
Perform all lab duties including production of lab size samples, application and evaluation of finished products and daily clean up and maintenance of lab area and equipment
Communicate effectively between Axalta teams (sales, QC, R&D, site, Supply Chain, etc.)
Travel when necessary to develop skills/training purposes
Other duties to support site quality initiatives
Perform all tasks in a safe and reliable manner
Navigate and perform activity SAP Datacolor Database
Application of liquid coatings to complete all testing
Follow Hilliard EHS&S policy requirements; Wear proper PPE, ex safety glass, static dissipating steel toed shoes, gloves, respirator, etc. in the required areas
Maintain all logs (Adjustment History, Calibration verification, Records on panels, Finished Goods Log Sheet, Batch tickets and all required signatures on them.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Working experience in a related position is highly preferred.
