Position Summary 

       

Perform duties required to insure all quality systems in the plant are functioning as designed. Responsible for the daily production quality verification requirements and gage calibration system. Work with operators, Area Managers/Departmental Leads, Engineering, vendors, and customers in solving problems. As needed serve as the backup to shift Team Lead and coordinate production teams to achieve production goals. Hold self and others accountable for adhering to all company values, policies, processes and procedures.  Communicate any relevant information to teams as necessary.

Meet production goals – Keep production cells running smoothly and producing quality parts. Work at producing parts where needed and respond to production stoppages. 

Support day to day factory floor activity through inspections, measurements and audits.   

Perform measurements and/or capability analysis on in process parts, tooling and any other supporting details as required. 

Support Engineering and other departments with special projects and measurement needs. 

Support quality system through safe practices, 5S and the control and maintenance of quality documents. 

Understand and safely operate material handling equipment (pallet jack, Fork Truck). 

Communication that supports and promotes community building/ productive dialog between the shifts 

Safety – Communicate and enforce company policies.  Confirm quality and PPE compliance (routine checks).  Ensure standard work is followed. Compile weekly and monthly safety data and create safety reports as required. 

Technical - Demonstrate a high working level of knowledge in quality-based skills.  These include but are not limited to the following: Establishment and execution of measurement techniques, development of inspection reports, execution of product and or process verification, understanding of data accuracy and precision, Lead all efforts for verification, calibration and tracking of measurement devices to ensure/ demonstrate gage reliability. Ensure the inspection and containment of defective product, Demonstrate an understanding of engineering prints and specifications.

 Job Requirements and Qualifications 

       

Minimum Education (or Equivalent) 

       

X   High School  

  2 Years College 

  Bachelor’s Degree 

   

  Master’s Degree 

  PHD 

  Technical Certificate or Trade School Degree 

       

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required 

       

SKILLS 

Minimum number of years of experience:  1-2 years in Quality or Manufacturing  

Able to use basic algebra / math skills 

Able to work from Blueprints and specifications 

Knowledge and ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments 

Knowledge of machining methods helpful but not mandatory 

Knowledge/use of computers to input data and interpret data.   

Ability to obtain a Fork Truck License through STEMCO provided training 

KNOWLEDGE 

High School graduation or equivalent
