Summary of role

Quality Technician will serve as the reference person to assist in Quality issues and questions at the ABM’s and other areas in the plant.  Quality Coordinator will serve as backup to this position.

 

Key responsibilities

 As an at-will employer, SIG (formerly Scholle IPN) reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary.

Verify bad bags were culled using daily reports. Check Bin that shows missing ply. Complete all hold area transfers in HADB, LN Virtual Client Assure hold tickets are fille out correctly. Make sure there is a gap/corrective action with each hold or return over 1 bin. Correct defect count after bin sorting is complete Inspect and repack bins in hold area following supply chain demand instructions. Quality Audits of recent training Quality audits of Quality testing completion Random Quality Audits of already tested bags. Audit all machine processes. Verify that the spec matches bag. Forward needed spec changes Test Bags Support machines on changeover verifications Support machines on quality concerns Support trials, new items SQF Auditing. Lead or take part in problem solving session for customer complaints. Lead or take part in problem solving session for internal holds Small group or individual training on standard quality tests Ability to reset quality equipment. Assist with quality testing on shift when issues arise. Other duties as assigned.

 

You bring these skills, experience & education

 EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D required. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime. Previous experience in bag making preferred. Future training and/or education may be necessary to further job skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations.  Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently standing, walking and sitting. Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery. Frequently bend, stoop and reach. Visual Acuity (VA).

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Moderate working conditions. Exposure to variable noise levels. Often exposed to moving mechanical parts.
