Our Food Service Packaging plant in Knox, IN is seeking a Quality Technician who will be an integral part of the Knox team supporting plant production. Shift: 1st, Monday - Thursday, 6 am - 4 pm CST. Overtime as needed. The Quality Technician is responsible for helping to ensure the quality of our product. How you will impact WestRock: * Understands and monitors all quality programs/expectations. * Maintains quality records for applicable areas of responsibility. * Performs all quality checks in accordance with FSP Knox\u2019s SOPs. * Ability to proof job start- ups, ensuring that the proper materials and quality specifications have been achieved prior to granting start-up approval. * Ensure that all paperwork and quality documentation is complete and accurate for each job. * Follow all safety rules and execute all job duties in a safe manner. * Participate as a key member of the plants Quality Steering committee. What you need to succeed: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position. * Prior work experience in a corrugated manufacturing plant. * Knowledge of quality methodologies and ability to evaluate standards. * Ability to effectively manage time. * Demonstrate ability to organize information. * Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and display a sense of urgency. * Process a high level of attention to detail. * Knowledge of necessary disciplines in a manufacturing setting. * Strong analytical skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively manage time. * Operating knowledge of experience with personal computers and peripherals. * Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, E-mail, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. * Will be exposed to some dusty and noisy conditions periodically. * Must be able to work with other personnel in meeting production goals.
