Quality Technician Hrly

Position Summary: Perform inspections and conduct audits to ensure that parts meet quality specifications and that processes are being followed in accordance with the quality management system.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Maintains a safe work environment and complies with all EHS policies and procedures. Maintains conformance to IATF 16949 quality management standards. Perform basic quality inspections using CMM, gauges, and other devices or equipment. Perform incoming inspections, in-process inspections, dock audits, process audit and create quality alerts. Maintain traceability of parts by serial number by using bar code scanning equipment. Initiate, perform and manage sorts, scrap material processing and production set ups. Maintain accurate records for poke yoke checks, process audits, dock audits, sort check list and Defective Material Notices to supply base. Work closely with Process Quality Engineers (PQE), Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE), suppliers and coworkers for component quality improvements and root cause analysis. Troubleshoot and support the proper maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment. Strictly adheres to and supports company policies, safety regulations, quality processes and 5S initiatives. Understand and comply with IATF 16949 requirements. Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed. Must be flexible with work schedule and work assignments. Communicate issues between shifts and escalates to leadership as necessary. Skills and Experience

Essential Skills and Experience:

Working knowledge as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment. Thorough understanding of GD&T principles and applications. Working knowledge of reading engineering drawings and blueprints. Working knowledge of measurement gauges including calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc. Working knowledge of CMM operations and interpreting results. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. English competency (reading, writing & speaking).

 

Preferred Skills and experience:

IATF 16949/ISO14001/ISO9001 system familiarity. AIAG Core Tools Awareness. Automotive industry experience. Understanding of Lean practices. SAP experience. Powered industrial vehicle operations
