Quality Technician I

The candidate for this position will support Quality initiatives to improve internal and external quality for the entire Warren, Michigan site. 

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Technician I will have a good working knowledge of Quality fundamentals and will perform one or more of the following tasks: 

Learn AS9100 requirements and provide support in multiple areas Participate in the Corrective Action process Issue Corrective Actions to Suppliers (SCAR) and follow up as necessary Conduct Internal Audits of major processes Audit procedures and work instruction documents Revise procedures, work instructions, forms, and other Quality documentation Manage material certifications and assign raw material to work orders Navigate Aerospace customer portals / websites Assist with Customer Surveys and Compliance requests Use hardness testing equipment and hand gages such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators Send material samples to external laboratory for testing Create inspection plans for machined components Perform secondary visual inspection and re-measurement of components Become approved Designated Quality Release (DQR) agent for various customers  Assist with First Article Inspection reports (FAI) Work with QE and ME controlling and dispositioning non-conforming     product Perform functions in SAP, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Outlook Participate in daily Gemba or Go-and-See production meetings 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum two years of experience in related field is required Prior experience in a Quality or Inspection related position Two-year or Four-year degree in a related area is preferred Familiarity with metalworking or CNC machine operation experience preferred Must be able to read and work to Engineering drawings and technical Work Instructions Must have experience with and knowledge of basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other mechanical measurement devices Must be self-directed and able to work well in a team environment Strong technical background Must have good communication and computer skills Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook experience required This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
