Quality Technician I (GA,TX)

Summary of Position:

The Quality Technician I performs quality checks in a timely manner for raw, work in process, and finished product through inspection, laboratory analysis, organoleptic testing and packaging status verification to ensure consistency.

Functions of the Position:% of TimeEssential/ Marginal·        Performs analysis on processing and packaging goods in a timely manner. Analyzes visual, organoleptic, weight, size, moisture, and salt to ensure consistency, checks processing lines for type of product, correctness of labels, and date codes, lids, and over cap color.70%Essential·        Conduct metal detection and other CCP verification testing.5%Essential·        Performs Post-sanitation inspections and ATP testing on production lines.5%Essential·        Enters data for analysis, holds, and equipment check outs.5%Essential·        Conduct pathogen environmental swabbing.5%Essential·        Holds “out of specification” products.5%Essential·        Performs any extra assigned duties as needed.5%Marginal

·        Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.

·        Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.

·        Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within assigned team and across functional areas.

·        Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

·        Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.

·        Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned.

·        Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Continually

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of food quality experience is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Skills and Competencies: Must be able to eat any snack product or nut variety for evaluation purposes. Attention to detail. Good record keeping. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Basic math skills. Ability to use the following: calculator, analytical scale, and salt, moisture, and oxygen analyzers, water activity meter, and color meter. Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Job Specific Requirements:

This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
