Join our team as a Quality Inspection Technician and play a crucial role in ensuring our parts meet the highest standards. You'll be responsible for verifying the specifications, form, fit, and function of components and brass bars, using advanced tools and techniques. The result of your efforts will be helping to create a safer and more open world for customers who need to protect some of the world’s most important assets. Key Responsibilities: + Quality Assurance: Conduct sample Acceptance Quality Limit testing on brass shipments from multiple vendors, using tools like the Starrett, micrometer, and Rockwell hardness testers. + Material Verification: Measure the metal composition of brass using an XRF x-ray fluorescence gun and maintain detailed records in our Thrive system. + Part Inspection: Test purchased parts to ensure they meet specifications, utilizing manual mics, indicators, and the Micro-Vu Vision System. + Training & Support: Serve as the expert and trainer for the Starrett digital comparator, providing templates and operational support to colleagues. + Programming: Develop and optimize programs for the Micro-Vu Vision System to automate and streamline the measurement process. + Collaboration: Communicate quality or compliance concerns promptly to Quality Engineers and work on various projects or audits as needed. Essential Functions: + Master the use of the Starrett and train others on best measurement practices. + Develop and implement programs for the Micro-Vu Vision System. + Utilize a variety of measurement tools for diverse parts. + Verify all deliveries of brass and other purchased parts. + Maintain accurate inspection data in the Thrive system. + Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures. + Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year technical degree preferred + Experience: Prior experience in part measurement within a manufacturing environment is a plus. + Skills: Proficiency in mechanical measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gages), basic computer skills (Microsoft Office), and strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. + Attributes: Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
