Quality Technician - Level III
**DESCRIPTION** **Job Summary:** Supports Engineers in executing production-related and inspection tasks, monitors material quality in processing plants, and makes necessary adjustments. Ensures the maintenance of accurate documentation and records. Works with minimal supervision and provides advanced technical expertise in measurement and testing operations. **Key Responsibilities:** + Compare the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects. + Conduct a variety of tests, including electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality. + Record test results and prepare detailed technical reports. + Perform both basic and advanced product and component testing using a range of measurement methods and equipment. + Program, train, and operate advanced Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE). + Assist customers in interpreting product specifications and applying measurement data effectively. + Participate in and lead measurement uncertainty studies associated with calibration results. + Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of M&TE. + Act as a technical resource for day-to-day laboratory operations, supporting engineering and quality teams with complex measurements. + Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and adapt to new challenges, including working in greenfield projects. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Competencies:** + **Action Oriented:** Tackles new opportunities and tough challenges with urgency and enthusiasm. + **Collaborates:** Builds partnerships and works effectively with others to meet shared objectives. + **Communicates Effectively:** Develops and delivers clear communications tailored to different audiences. + **Customer Focus:** Builds strong relationships and provides customer-centric solutions. + **Decision Quality:** Makes sound, timely decisions that support organizational goals. + **Manages Conflict:** Resolves conflicts effectively with minimal disruption. + **Resourcefulness:** Deploys resources efficiently to achieve objectives. + **Values Differences:** Recognizes and appreciates diverse perspectives and cultural contributions. + **Measurement Science:** Analyzes and quantifies sources of uncertainty in measurement processes, including areas such as Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, and Radiation measurements. + **Quality Process Management:** Applies advanced quality tools (e.g., APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and process audits) to ensure product, process, and service quality. + **Laboratory Management:** Manages technical and business aspects of a laboratory, ensuring compliance with certifications and accreditations. **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent certificate of secondary education. + Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** + Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Skills and Knowledge:** + Advanced expertise in product and component testing using M&TE. + Proficiency in programming, training, and operating advanced M&TE. + Ability to act as a technical resource for laboratory operations, providing complex measurement support to engineering and quality teams. + Strong collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders. + Flexibility and adaptability, especially in supporting greenfield projects. **Job** Quality **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** On-site **Job Type** Technician **ReqID** 2409567 **Relocation Package** No
