Job Description

The Quality Test Engineer I is an entry-level position in Quality Assurance that is responsible for learning QA methodologies and assisting in ensuring compliance.

Accountabilities:

To understand product requirements and develop test plans, test cases, and test dataExecute test scripts, analyze, and record results (manual and automated testing)Ensure that adequate test coverage is providedIdentify defects/anomalies and investigate their root cause. Document and track these defects.Assist fellow team members in resolving technical issuesContribute to improving the QA process and quality standardsRecommend improvements or corrections to developers or system analystsWork with Developers, Product Owners, Product Analysts and other test team members to complete testing tasksEnsure high quality and accuracy is maintained throughout the software release cycleProvide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirementsDetermine testing tools that can be implemented to aid QA and maximize testing coverageUndertake other duties

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have the following skills/characteristics:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.1-2 years of Software Quality Testingexperience1-2 years of Software Quality Automation experience using Selenium WebDriver, Karate, Cucumber, or similar frameworks1+ years of experience with CI systems including Github, JIRA, etc.Graduate of BS Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics or equivalent experience is requiredAbility to build medium to complex SQL queries to retrieve data from relational database (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)Experience or knowledge in Big Data / Data warehousingLogical, thorough, and task-focused, with an eye for detail, able to rapidly absorb and apply technical informationGood interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with fellow team members and all levels of managementPragmatic, self-directed and self-disciplinedAbility to build and maintain positive rapport with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, and across different time zonesHas experience in using compare tools (files)Software development background and experience is a plusExperience with working on ETL is a plusExperience with working on XML & FLAT files is a plusExperience using Python programming language is a big plusExperience in using any defect management tool (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)Experience with testing Web services and LINUX shell scripts is a plus
